The Older the wine, the better the wine?

Updated: Feb 18, 2020

Hmm? Not necessarily.

It depends on your wine, what varietal you have and how it was made. Some wines benefit from the ageing process while others are at their best when they're young. Normally, a red wine will taste better as it matures, but a white wine, or even a rosé, can taste better when cracked open as soon as you get home!

If you’re unsure of when the best time to drink your wine is, have a chat to who you’re buying it from to get an idea of when you’re going to get the best experience from your bottle. if you choose to save your bottle or 'Cellar it', it's also worthwhile asking about the best way to store it too.

With our wine tours of The Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley, we give you the opportunity to discuss these important issues! - directly with the winemaker.
